The PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld game console developed by Sony. The system was released in Japan on December 12, 2004, in North America on March 24, 2005, and in the PAL region on September 1, 2005. It primarily competed with the Nintendo DS, as part of the seventh generation of video games.
PSP has teamed up with the National College of Art and Design to showcase the work of some of the finest up and coming artists in Ireland today.
The aim of the project is to provide a new digital platform for the final year students of NCAD to showcase their work on a global scale and open the realms of Irish art to the digital age.
Combined with this, Framework Design developed an interactive promotional website for SONY Ireland to promote the PSP as more than just a gaming device. Having introduced many new capabilities over the years, the console now facilitates many interesting features.
Over 20 creatives were commissioned to produce original and innovative artwork or elements that could be downloaded from the site to the user’s handsets.
Users were also encouraged to develop their own creative pieces and to upload them to the PSP&Me website to share with others in the PSP community.
